Counselling & therapy in English · Brno and online

A space where you don't have to hold it alone

There are times when life stops making sense. I offer a safe place to look together at what you are going through — without judgement, and at your own pace.

Anna Jankovičová — psychologist and therapist

What you can bring

You don't need to know what it is yet

A sense that things cannot go on this way is enough. The themes I most often work with:

Anxiety and restlessness

Tension held in the body, sleepless nights, tightness in the chest, the feeling of never being able to stop.

Exhaustion and loss of meaning

Long-term fatigue, emptiness, periods when nothing brings joy and the way forward is unclear.

Relationships and boundaries

Patterns that keep repeating, difficulty saying no, loneliness even among people close to you.

Life transitions

Separation, relocation, a new job, the loss of someone close — moments when the familiar order falls apart.

Pregnancy and motherhood

Pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period and the changes they bring. An area I have accompanied women through for years, also as a doula.

Trauma and its traces in the body

Experiences that cannot be thought through and keep returning. We approach them gently and step by step.

How it works

From first contact to regular sessions

You get in touch

Call or send an email. You don't need to explain everything in advance — a few sentences are enough.

We arrange a first meeting

In person in Brno-Líšeň, or online. A session usually lasts 60 minutes.

The first three sessions

They are for getting to know each other. You tell me what brings you and what you hope for, and you see how I work. There is plenty of room for your questions.

We decide together

After three meetings we talk about whether and how to continue. If you need something different, I will gladly recommend a colleague.

Ongoing work

We choose the rhythm together — according to what your schedule allows and how intensive a process your themes call for.

My approach

Biosynthesis body psychotherapy

Biosynthesis is an integrative approach that works not only with what we think about our lives, but with how we live them in the body. Much of what weighs on us cannot be fully held in words.

In practice this means that alongside talking, we can work with the body — with movement, rhythm and touch. Always in gentle, small steps that gradually widen what is possible for you. Nothing happens without your consent, and always at your pace.

  • In person in Brno-Líšeň, or online across Czechia and Slovakia
  • Sessions in English, Czech and Slovak
  • Bound by confidentiality, working under regular supervision

Frequently asked

Before you write

What is the difference between counselling and therapy?

Counselling tends to be shorter and focused on a specific situation. Therapy is a longer process that also reaches what keeps repeating. We clarify which fits you better in the first sessions.

Do I need to know what I want to talk about?

No. Many people arrive with a sense that something is not right — and that is a good starting point. Finding the words is part of the work we do together.

How long does therapy take?

It varies a great deal. Sometimes a few months are enough, sometimes the process is longer. I will never push you to continue — the length is your decision.

Does online therapy work as well?

For many themes, yes — and some people prefer it, as it removes travel. We meet over video, from a quiet and private place.

Is therapy covered by health insurance?

No, sessions are paid privately. Current rates are on the pricing page.

Does what I say stay between us?

Yes. I am bound by confidentiality. I discuss my work in supervision, always anonymously, with no details that could identify you.
